The Squamish River has 4 main tributaries including the Elaho River, Ashlu River, Cheakamus River, and Mamquam River. Including the Squamish river, these 4 rivers offer fly fishing for 4 of the pacific salmon species including Chinook (King), Chum (Dog), Coho (Silvers), and Pink (Humpies) when they return to spawn. The Squamish river system has a small run of Winter steelhead that may enter the system from late December through to May with the peak of the run in late March through to late April. Resident fish provide year round fly fishing opportunities for wild rainbow trout, cutthroat trout, and bull trout. There is always something to catch!
